Onigiri yummy by Psunna Onigiri yummy by Psunna
They are called onigiri <3 i made my own ones and they are SO tasty!

the white base is rice, the black stripe is not for decoration, its vor holding them withoud getting dirty fingers ... the black stripe is nori (seaweed) on the top of the onigiris is furikake (vegetable taste)
the onigiris have a filling. the filling is a mix from egg, mayonnaise, sandwich bred and cheese

You eat them with soy sauce

YUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUM ^_^

technically you're not supposed to eat them with soy sauce, but i suppose the "americanized" way with sauses, you can.

i'd suggest working on your shaping technique. they look a bit sloppy, either that or you're using the wrong type of rice.

*i make these every week for my boyfriend's lunches. :I

it was my third try to make them i'm looking for a mold but i can't find one =)

my boyfriend said: why don't you cook for me?
answer: phh >w> cook your own food!

i think you might have to find a stickier rice than the one you're using. because it looks like the grains just aren't sticking together right like rice balls should.
hand molding them is quite easy, if you have a hard time doing it bare handed, take some saran wrap (plastic wrap) and put it open in your hand, place the rice in, then the filling, cover the filling and wrap the saran around it, using it to keep a barrier with your hands while you mold it.

the video i used to learn :3 very simple, very easy.

So yummy! I remember seeing onigiri on pokemon when I was little and hearing them call them doughnuts... stupid 4kids, it's obviously something from another culture that probably tastes better or just as good.

Were the eggs cooked in the mix in the center?

And what all id you use to make the furikake?

yes, whatever you use as filling it has to be not too wed ... if you want to use ... sosages (which are too wed) you can add sandwhich bread to make it dry)
